I have 4 springs on my garage door and there is a space on the end that could have another making 5. The garage door seem a little heavy. What is standard number of springs for the door?

I am not sure about everyone else, but mine has 6 springs on it.

6 here, and still heavy due to patio option.

Mine only has 4 also. I noticed other haulers (even same model as mine) have 6. I also have a space to add one more. The reason is (on mine anyway) when they made the door, they didn't get the spacing between the hinges right. I checked lipperts website for another spring so I could add one. $52 dollars plus shipping.

My Raptor 381 has 6. I actually have the opposite issue, my ramp levitates about 4-6" off the ground when opened, even with the extra weight of the patio rails on it.

The reason is (on mine anyway) when they made the door, they didn't get the spacing between the hinges right. I checked lipperts website for another spring so I could add one. $52 dollars plus shipping. I cut a 3 inch 1/2 cpvc pipe with 1/2 gray flex conduit over the cpvc pipe and forced it over the bottom part of the spring wile the door was closed . I may add a 3/4 conduit over the 1/2 and put a little tension on the spring . That helped , I addressed it to the dealer they said they would look at it. I have to remember this is the same dealer that told me me they used floats in the holding tanks.
