I picked up a bottle of the 303 protectant upon recommendation of this forum and was curious if there are any tips or tricks for it's use?

- Per the bottle instructions, it's a matter of spray on, wipe off, have you found it to be that simple, no streaking or funky haze?

- Also the bottle indicates to re-apply every 3-5 weeks - my typical maintenance routine has been wash once a month (after use) and wax / roof service every 6 months. I just don't see 303ing this thing once a month, I imagine it is faster than waxing but still very time consuming. How often do you guys apply the 303?

I did it in May of this year and have driven the unit through rain twice and washed it twice since. I applied it with a spray bottle and random orbit buffer, then used the same buffer with a microfiber cloth to buff. I think the directions say to buff it before it dries. The shine has held up well on the gelcoat sides of the fiver but not so well on the fiberglass nose cap. I think when I use 303 again I will opt for regular wax on the nose cap. I found that cleaning all the bugs off the cap was a serious chore and think that wax will make bug guts removal easier.

Hi,

I apply it x2 a year.

I use a damp rag to treat all of the rubber seals and I use a rectangle mop thingy for the roof, sides, and awnings. I put the the 303 on lightly and don't really buff it and don't have streaks or haze.

Dryer sheets? No kidding - who discovered that trick? I plan on going out over Labor Day weekend and will give that a shot when I return. I thought you had to buff the 303 out... I'll try that too when I do my last coating prior to winter setting in. Thanks for the tips.

Lee... you should post a photo of your Highboy. My best friend's 19 year old son just got one that he is going to restore... he's pretty excited about it.
