I scraped the side of my trailer and ripped something off the awning, looks like some cord that holds the awning in place? How concerned should I be, and how do I fix it?

Looks like it threads through to hold the fabric in place.

Nothing to worry about. When the fabric is made, that bead is sewn in and purposely left long at one end to help "thread" it onto the roller. Someone forgot to snip it when the install was done.

Before you snip it off make sure it extends out of the other end of the awning. I've seen them migrate out at one end before.

It doesn't stick out of the other end on the top, looks like it snagged, got pulled and then snapped. I tried sticking it back in but it won't budge, any recommendations?

As long as the fabric isn't pulling out on the other end, cut it off.

Cut it off and see if it will go in the other end

Sounds like a good idea, thanks.

X2 on trying the other end.

The bulge that piece makes is what holds the fabric in the roller. If it isn't pulling out on that end yet it likely will at some point.

How about a picture of the other end.

I cut the protruding part off and threaded it in the other side. It was a little tight but it fit perfectly.

You might want to put a dab of silicone sealant on each end in the track to keep the hard price in there. On one of my popups the awning had small sheet metal screws in the track on each side of the fabric. Not sure if it was a manufacturer or owner fix but it would have been effective.

I have a small sheet metal screw from factory in the bottom, but I snagged the cable and broke it. I'll put a little silicon in there.
