Still learning trailer/truck weights and how it all plays together.

On the Ram website, my 2015 Ram, 1500 4x4, Hemi with 3.92 axles has a GCWR of 15,950. Truck is about 5366lbs. trailer loaded is around 7200lbs. when loaded. I weighed both on a scale and I was at 13,600. Here is my concern; I borrowed a tongue scale that went up to 1000lbs for my tongue weight and it pegged the gage when I loaded just the trailer on it. Obviously way over the 10% target. Guessing this is why my trailer tows like crap!

I'm using a Fastway E2 94-00-1000 WDH.

So it appears I am OK for GCWR, is this correct? Appreciate any help trying to figure out how I can tow without drama.

Your GCWR is fine, your tongue weight is probably okay as well once your WDH bars are connected. With the 1000 lb bars you can actually transfer up to 1000 lbs to the tow vehicle. That is the rating on the bars, how much weight they are capable of transferring. If you really want to have some fun, get a weight of the truck/trailer connected, by axle, then adjust the bars to see how much weight gets transferred at different settings.
