Our 3 burner range did not come with a range cover. Is it worth it to buy one?

Thanks in advance to any responders. We are new to the 5th wheel world.

I got to tell you, we never use ours. I forgot we had one. Happy Camping, Sam

My cougar does not have one. We had one in the last unit, but I can't say we see much value to it. I remember one of the rivets wore out from opening and closing so much and I had to repair it.

I guess the RV manufacturers remove them now to save some costs.

So, if you're lacking from counterspace and when you're not using the stove maybe it's worth it. I have seen cutting boards designed for RV use that go there instead, maybe that's a good alternative I think the price was 1/3 of a stove cover.

If I saw a used one at a bargin basement price I'd consider it but they are as much as $100 bucks new. Not something I personally see much value in.

We have a range cover in our 5er. It was standard equipment when we bought. My experience in the past has been that on other RV's we seldom used the cover. If we left it up, it would scratch the wall during travel. if we did put it down, it would get scratched if we sat anything on it. If we closed it while the stovetop was hot, it would discolor the stainless steel.

If I had any input into having to pay for a range cover, I think I'd definitely use that money to get LED bulbs or a second battery.
