I have a new Passport 2200RBWE which I plugged into a power source for the first time. There is a fan like sound coming from the breaker panel. Is this normal?

Thanks

That is normal. There is a fan to cool the converter. It will turn on and off and speed up and down automatically.

Converter Fan. when you do not hear that fan like sound coming from the breaker panel then you have to worry.

Our fan kicks on when have more than three lights are on, so it's on pretty much all the time. Worried at first, but then read up and it's just "going it's job"

Silence that fan by switching to led light bulbs. I had to do that on my previous trailer. Just one light and the fan would start. Switched to LEDS and I could turn them all on ar the same time with no fan noise.

Agreed, LED's are the way to go. A big investment, but if your dry camping, they'll be worth it.

3X on the LEDs. I got 20 bulbs for $37.00 on Amazon and they all worked great. No more fan noise either. The quality of the light is not as warm as an incandescent bulb, but they are energy friendly and they will last a long time.
