Just got back from our shake down trip on our 2011 cougar high country 5er. Our tv is a f250 6.2 gasser. We have had 3 other 5ers but I think this is the first Keystone product. The trip went well but I'll have a couple of questions I'll ask later. I belong to another forum and have received a lot of good pointers and advice. Hope to find that true here and maybe even more specific info being it's for only keystone products.

The trip was only about 250 miles R T and involved one mountain pass of just under 4k ft. When we returned home the computor said the mpg was 10.2. I drive around 60 mph average 55-65. The mph was a little disappointing considering the advertised wt of the cougar is appx 8k. Also considering our rig set up before was a 6L gmc with a 4:10 4 speed and about 9500 lbs. I average 10 mpg with that set up. The ford has 3:73 gears with 6 speeds. All in all it pulled well just not day and night difference between the two tv. rich

Thanks for the reply, sounds decent enough.

If it makes you feel any better I average about 10mpg towing my under 10k 5er with a ford 6.7 diesel, but I don't see 55 mph often on the open road. I upgraded wheels and tires so I can tow with traffic and not be so worried about blowouts, so far so good.

Congrats again on the new rig!
