Next question after a weekend of camping in our new to us 2014 Sprinter. The water heater is an electric/gas heat unit. How do you get the electric heat to operate. I have the small switch in the on position on the heater. The gas switch is off at the command center. Both of the reset buttons seem to be pushed in when pushed. Is there another switch behind the panel inside.

I ended up heating with propane but would prefer to use electric at the camp site.

Thanks

Tim

could be that sometime the water heater was not full of water and the electric was turned on. If this was the case probably the element is burnt out. If you have an ohm meter check across the element connections to see if you have an open circuit.

First check the breaker in the distribution center... Then make sure the switch on the heater is really in the "ON" position.. pretty sure the switch in at the top is OFF

I had a similar issue and found that the electrical side of the heater was not plugged in from the factory. I found it when i took the wood panel off the front to turn the winterizing valves. You may also be able to pull a near by drawer to take a look. I posted a picture in a different thread.

We have a 2015 Cougar. It has a quick recovery water heater. The switch on the command center has to be on as well as the switch at the water heater. The LP will heat to temp and the electric basically maintains the temp, until it is used and then the LP fires to keep the up with the demand. As long as it is plugged in.
