I'm claiming a win here for my husband, who I now call Captain Awesome. We have a two burner Camp Chef Explorer stove and do most of our cooking outside. Dragging it out of the storage unit, pulling it out of its storage bag, assembling the legs, screwing on the propane hose and then reversing all that at the end of the trip was a pain. I thought it would be great if it could just slide out of the storage unit. However, drawer slides in the length we would need and able to support the weight would be $300-500. Yep! That's what I want. I sent the video to Captain Awesome and he made it for me just in time for our Mother's Day campout (and he did all the cooking). Our TT is very high off the ground so it was unexpectedly high but luckily neither of us are short so I'm extremely happy with it. We ran a propane line from the low pressure side of the propane tank valve and put a quick connect below the storage unit. We just slide the stove out and connect the hose.

I kinda thought the same thing, but for me I'd have to figure out how to add the mod to a huge basement storage area. Then I also realized that's where I put my lounge chair and where I sit to have my coffee while watching the sunrise. So much for that idea. Guess I'll continue to carry the camp chef in the storage bag and set it up each trip. I do like the look of the mod though, very nicely done.

That's really handy, how did you get inside the storage to reach the screws?

That's a great job, but I have to agree with BSSmith. I couldn't afford to lose that much outside storage. I did the next best thing. I got rid of the useless 2 burner stove and the sink with no drain that came with my Outback 277RL and use that space to store the CampChef stove. It's a perfect fit and the swing down door makes a great work table.

I've been trying to find a way to get something to slide from underneath and then popup. I can't afford to lose where I stack my recliners in my storage bay.

We did have to rearrange the way we stored things. We didn't lose as much space as you might initially think because some of that space was already used to store the camp chef stove in its storage bag, my Dutch oven in a rolling case and our big griddle. Now all of that stores on the rack without bags.

We moved our chairs and recliners into the camper itself, which is fine because those items are first out and last in anyway.

We did find it has a flaw when it is raining. The gutter is right above that area, runs down the wall and straight through the hinges of the door flap onto the rack's countertop. We do keep the original legs of the camp chef so we can set it up under the awning instead if needed.
