quick disconnect for gas BBQ

HI i have a cougar 326MKS and it is great so far,been out two times
going again end of march.
What i would like to know is what size is the quick disconnect on the
trailer for the BBQ ,and do i have to take the regulator off the BBQ?
And who sells the hose on line with the right hookup.

I have done this with a coleman roadtrip grill. The quick coupling should be a standard size for propane appliances. I did have to remove the regulator and run a hose from the quick disconect directly to the grill. I made my own hose but any propane dealer can make you a hose. You may need to take the two parts where your hose will attach with you.

Our local Hardware store sells the coupling to go from quick connect to the proper hose that I bought from coleman for our "road trip" grill.

You definitely have to use a BBQ with out a regulator. I use the Stainless Steel mountable grill http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/stainless-steel-mountable-grill/37764 , from Camping World. It works great and saves a lot of space. As far as I know the LP quick connects are standardized.

Most propane BBQ's have a 3/8" fitting that threads into the BBY burner. A quick connect off your RV is on the low pressure side of your RV regulator. So you don't need a second regulator.. All that is needed is to establish how long you want the hose, what the fitting type is on your BBQ and the other end is a quick connect.

I have a camp chef 2 Burner stove which has a 3/8" to quick connect pigtail hose. It's 18" long and I leave it always attached to the stove. I have a 12 foot hose that has a quick connect that plugs into the RV and a coupler which has a shut off lever. So i connect the 12 foot hose up to the RV, connect it to the pigtail on the stove. Then simple as lever on the RV propane quick connect turned on, and the hose turned on. Light the Stove, in business. Doesn't get any easier. Buy a rubber hose not the thermoplastic.. The Thermoplastic hoses drive me crazy, the are tough to wind up and they crack over time.

How do you like your Campchef. Did you buy it at Costco? Last two seasons I've seen it there for a really good price. I bought the 2 burner stove version at Cabella's about 2 years ago. I bought the cast iron griddle and all the matching carry bags etc. Spend an insane amount of money when it was unproven still... First time I used it was on Thanksgiving Day, fired it up and got the griddle going.. We had a small army of people to feed.. 2 almost 3 packs of bacon cooked all at once. Then pancakes over a dozen at a time, then eggs. Best investment I ever made. Later on, when cooking potatoes and carrots in huge pots the two burners made quick work of it.. The barbeque box was a christmas present, used it once and its just "ok.." I think I would prefer a nice stainless steel portable that I can fire up when needed..

How old is your Coleman Road Trip Grill? We went to a propane dealer and he told us we could not get the fitting for our road trip grill to connect it to the quick disconnect on the RV. Our Road Trip grill regulator has two fingers that grab and lock on to the grill which we would replace with the new hose.
