Yep, I took the plunge this weekend. We have been wanting to do this for a while now. The hardest part was deciding to make that first cut in the dinette side. But once I got going it wasn't too bad. I'm not a finish carpenter at all so it's a bit rough on the inside. The outside is what is most important right?

I put sliding drawers in my mod. Much easier to reach stuff. Just be careful with the screws and don't use long ones. They tend to scar the linoleum and tear carpet. Experience :(

It's so much better than having to remove those bulky cushions all the time!!!

We've decided we're just going to pick up some rolling under bed bins. Located some at the Container Store that will fit nicely. Thought about the drawers but just didn't want to deal with installing the drawer hardware.

I am very interested in your drawer mod. Could you please repost with pictures?
Thanks

Don't know whose pictures you wanted, but here's our mod. We still have all the information on the slide company and drawer company we used if you're interested. This mod cost about $600. I'll send another photo below. You'll also notice that we got rid of the two silver poles under the table and put in a Springfield Pedestal.

This one shows the slides. We used heavy-duty because we wanted the drawer to utilize almost the whole space. The drawers are huge!

Last picture. Bear with me. This one shows how really large the drawers are. Don't know if there's a way to put three pictures on one message. Oh well!

I like the Springfield Pedestal, they seem pretty expensive, $474 on Amazon from Camping World. Did you find a better price on your someplace?

Springfield Pedestal was total $318 from Walmart.com. It has made a huge difference in leg room and was worth it.

Koko - I'm very interested in the info that you have. Can you please send it to me? Also, does the $600 include the pedestal or no? We have the horrible fold down legs and I'd like to replace them with something else.

Thanks,
John

The pedestal was not part of the $600. Pedestal cost $318 from Walmart but well worth it. No more leg-room problems, and it glides up and down easily.

To face the drawers we ordered the doors through our Keystone dealer (you can't order directly from Keystone), but the doors we needed were the same size as the cabinet door in our television entertainment center. They were $151 for the pair and match the rest of the camper drawers and cabinets exactly. The drawers were from The Drawer Depot, El Cajon, CA. They are beautiful quality, totally finished inside and out (highly sanded-no splinters, etc.) They are dove-tail, white birch, 1/2 inch side thickness, 3/8 inch bottom thickness-very substantial and were $129 for two. The most expensive item were the metal slides. I can't find the bill, but we paid about $350 for them (the shipping was a killer). They are heavy-duty because of the size of the drawers. All of the items I've given included shipping. Other than that, we bought pulls for the drawer faces. For the most part, we followed detailed instructions that were given by MiSailor on this forum. You can do a search to find his post. If you do this mod, you won't be disappointed.
