We had our trailer at a relatives acreage, stored for free. They sold their property so we moved to an outside storage lot. We have a 35ft back in space at $60 a month (trailer is 33 ft long). A 35 ft pull through space has just opened up for $70 a month and we are taking it as backing into our current space is almost impossible to execute.

Is this a good rate?
What do others pay for storage?

Price for storage space rental varies significantly from one location to another. Even a very short distance can mean a significant difference in rental rates. In some populated areas where space is a premium, outdoor storage can cost $150 to $250 monthly. Indoor storage is even more. Conversely, in a rural area, outdoor rental space in some localities is $25 ot $35 monthly and indoor space can be as inexpensive as $50 monthly.

So, to answer your question... If the competition is advertising the same rates, you're probably paying the "going rate" The only way to know is for you to do some comparison shopping in your area. Anyone who responds can give you rates in their location, but that information would likely be meaningless where you're located.

In our part of Idaho we pay $68/month for a covered pull through that is in the secured section of the storage facility where we need to unlock a second gate to get in and another to pull the trailer through. I can't remember exactly how long the space is, but we keep our 30' trailer there with the pull out shelf extended for storage and our four wheelers behind that.

Just as a comparison to confirm what John said, in Manteca, Ca outdoor storage starts at $140.00/mo. I don't know if it's back in or pull through, as I quit paying for any storage in 2000.

We pay $35 a month for outdoor storage--about 10 miles from town. In town it's around $50 for outdoor and $70-100 for covered or indoor.

We pay $50/mo for outside storage.

Lot is open during the RV dealer's hours and locked with no access otherwise. Many space are back in. They have recently created dome pull thru sections.

Nearby non-secured storage is $40/mo.

I pay about $270 a month for a fully enclosed storage unit, think it's 45 feet long. I started out paying $240 a little over two years ago but they've gone up every year. This is the cheapest I've found but I have to drive about 16 miles to get to it. It's a huge facility, largest storage unit facility I've ever seen. I absolutely hate paying this much and would love to buy a lot and build my own.

There's been a few neighbors build large garages for their RV. I'm on 1/2 acre and have room but just hate to put it right next to my neighbor where he looks out and stares right at a huge garage. If he moved I might look in to it, right now they are such good neighbors I just can't do it. Anyone built their own completely enclosed garage, total costs? There's an area a few miles away that several people have built their own large buildings, usually 3-4 bays. It's insanely expensive but sure would like to rent a spot from them but think it would be outrageous. I think most owners use one spot for their RV and rent out the other two or three. One father and son, both who own newish Prevost busses built a 4 bay unit and I stopped by to see what they wanted for it. It was over $500,000, I just about passed out. The same father and son have their Prevost busses and a couple of other trailers in their own building. It's insane, they have a huge area to just hang out in with huge TV's and living area. Quite the man cave.

I pay $100.00 to store it a the place that services my trailer for me.

We back it into the drop off pick up area and they put it behind the locked fence for us. Best of all if I need something done all I have to do is call and they pull it out of storage for me and service it.

For my pull through space with 40-foot overhang and electric plugin runs $132 per month. Other storage areas in the immediate area of north Austin to Georgetown are similarly priced.

Ours goes into a basic fenced in parking lot and it costs $45/month uncovered. It is a ways away, though; about 10 miles. That doesn't sound like much, but when you figure in weekly trips to pick it up and drop it off during camping season, the gas and time adds up.

There is a spot within 2 miles of me but the cost is double. I just can't bring myself to pay that year-round, even after my last sentence from above. Sometimes logic fails me.

I'm one hour and 20 min away from the previous poster in Manteca CA. We were paying $110 for outside storage at a UHaul place. Then we found an old lady who rents out extra space on her acreage and now we're at $70 a month, outside.

I park mine at a family friend's machine shed. I back it in and leave a check for $150. Stays nice and dry until I decide to pick it up in the spring. The guy quit farming several years ago and parks a couple of rv's and a combine among other things.

Local place about 7 miles from us, which I would guess is "in town" but is in near industrial park/regular park part of town charges me $55/month or $270 for 6 months. Secure, cameras/guard etc, dump station but no water hookups. Pull through spot. Back in spot is like $35/month? Even though our trailer is shorter than yours, yours would easily fit, as we as usually nestled between 2 high end full size motor coaches lol.

Cost is different everywhere you go though. Our place will also allow you to park whatever you want in your spot when trailer isn't there, or if you have a dedicated TV and it can all fit, you can leave it as well. Very accommodating.

Ours for a outdoor location on concrete is a $1 per foot - counting overall. So, ours is $31 per month, and these are back in locations. They have covered with a 30' length and 11' height limitation, at $2 per foot, so we can't get in there - mostly only boats. It is secured by chain link fence, and specific hours of operation.
I actually get more piece of mind knowing mine isn't the most expensive RV on the lot:D. We did have it at another location for $25 per month, that wasn't in a fence, out in the country and had a few instances of someone - probably kids playing with the tongue jack switches. Put in a battery disconnect to eliminate that issue.

I like the concrete pad best, because I don't think we get the mice and critters where there isn't any grass or vegetation for cover or food. Our current place used to be an old Army Storage facility, now called the "Depot".

Don't feel too bad! We pay $85 per month, for outdoor storage in metro Portland, OR 32'. I don't complain as I landed a promo spot that is one of four across the end of a covered storage building. It is extra wide, I can place my slides out while in my space.
The space is about 2 miles from my house.

In Evansville, IN we pay $30/mo. for back-in outdoor storage about 5 minutes from the house. It is in a rural area.

When I was looking for storage, the prices ranges from $40-$75 dollars a month. Luckly, I found a fenced in 24hr accessible 35ft pull through lot for $30 a month that is no more than 10 minutes from my house. If you pay a full year forward, it's $300/year. What a deal!

Oh my! So glad I don't have to worry about storing our unit. That's a lot of money. We are on a seasonal lot with free winter storage on our site. We save on storage fees plus no need for tow vehicle.

I feel like I'm paying an outrageous price at around $260 a month but it is fully enclosed. I just refuse to let it sit outside and deteriorate. I keep thinking I'd be better off buying a small lot somewhere and building my own garage at the price I pay per month. Anyone built a fully enclosed facility?

I'm paying $86 (with tax) a month for a fully covered stall with 15amp service in a gated and lighted lot with surveillance cameras... less that 5 minutes from my house.
