I'm wanting to change out the black pop-up legs (the ones you pull a handle and they collapse down) to something else on our dinette. I have had enough of banging my knees on it and the bruises. At the RV show last weekend, we sat in campers that had both the table and chairs, and ones with the two silver pole legs anchored into the floor base. After deciding a table and chairs would be nice, but we don't have enough room to fit them in our camper comfortably, we thought the silver pole legs would work pretty good.

What pros and cons does everyone think about that style of table legs? Of course, I need to make sure the screws to hold the bases into the floor aren't too long for the slide-out floor, but have I missed anything else?

Thank you!

Our table has a bracket on the wall and then a leg that folds down. When we don't want to use it, we can remove it and stow it elsewhere. I don't like the legs like you are looking at because the floor isn't smooth and has those dang brackets there. That's where our dog bed goes at night :-(

We have the two silver poles, but they get in the way. We have a booth, and it's hard to maneuver around the poles. Someone on this forum said he put in a single pole called a "Springfield Three Stage Table Pedestal". He got it at Walmart. They're kind of expensive, but we've been considering it. He said it was the best mod he ever made.

The problem with the two silver poles is they can be wobbly. They just sit in the brackets by friction. In a previous trailer I actually ended up drilling holes in the poles and brackets and running in a sheet metal screw to stop the wobbling. If needed to make into a bed it was easy to remove the screws. I'm afraid there is no magic solution. Also, when sliding into the booth you still have to work your way around the poles and run into the person across from you's feet.

The three stage hydraulic table bases are nice and very strong. They are also pricey.
