Thanks for the welcome. I may not need an anchor, but I will need a truck. I've had two dealers state a 2500HD Diesel 4X4 will work. I am leaning toward a 3500HD diesel to ensure payload capability. The search begins...

You're looking at an empty pin weight of about 2300 pounds. By the time you add propane and two batteries to the mix, you're looking at 2500 pounds of empty pin weight. Then, with the washer/dryer connections in the front closet, if you add those appliances, you're likely to see an empty pin weight of close to 2800 pounds. Add your "goodies" to the mix and you're looking at upwards of 3000+ pounds before you add your hitch to the mix.

Most 3/4 ton trucks are capable "pullers" of heavy trailers, especially diesel equipped 3/4 ton trucks. But where they fall short is in payload, for example, most F250 diesel trucks have a payload of about 2500 - 2700 pounds. Your trailer empty pin weight will likely be over that before you even add passengers or cargo to the mix.

You're headed in the right direction when you start looking at 1 ton trucks to tow that trailer. In fact, we have a couple of members who have found that a F350 is "at its limit" with a 3000 pound pin.
