Hi,

I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L. Pulling a 16k 5th wheel (under my limit by 1,200lbs)

What are the temp levels when to pull over and let it cool down? For example, my engine temp gets up to 210 pulling around town, normally it is 190

addMy experiences have been if I can keep them both under 220 your within the parameters. If it stays there for a long time or goes above that you might consider installing an auxiliary trans cooler with the electric fan mounted in place of the existing one. I did this and my D&A combo are much happier after having been beyond 240. I can run the fan from a toggle in the cockpit. This also helps the engine temps recover faster after a hard pull.

Are you referring to engine or transmission temp? Engine temp of 220 F is fine. Most normal transmission temps range from 150 to 190 depending on outside temp and load. Going up hills under load trans temps should not go above 220 for extended periods.
