Lightbulb Question

Hi to everyone!

We have a 2013 Hideout 19FLBWE, and I would like to switch the interior lightbulbs out for led bulbs.

I finally got the cover off one of the fixtures, but I'm not sure how to remove the bulb. It is not the standard bayonet-type bulb, but it looks like a white plastic base with a few raised dots on it.

I don't want to force or break the fixture. I can't find any info about the type of bulbs are in these fixtures, so I'm hoping someone can advise me.

A picture would really help. Mine pull straight out. I don't have these bulbs but the base looks like mine.
I looked at my fixtures and on the reflector it says what type bulb and mine does say 921 type. Even the bulb had 921 on it.

Most likely a bayonet bulb. They simply push into the slot and there are two wires exposed on the bulb. 921 is the most common, and when looking for LED replacements just make sure they are compatible with a 921 base.

If they're like mine, you have to pull hard. A little side to side wiggle helps someone, but carefully!

I'll bet they're a 921 also. Some of mine were darn hard to pull out and put in - wiggle and pull. The cover slides out then pulls down on mine to align the retaining ears with the slots. The link below is what I used for replacement and they have done wonders; heat is almost non existent. My converter used to kick in when I turned on the first light switch. Now I can turn them all on with the exception of the bathroom (1fixture) and you can't hear the inverter. Good luck.

I was about to ask if someone would post a picture of the led bulb they used. Thanks so much. Are these as bright as the factory bulbs? Would you buy the same ones if you had it to do over?

There is a sticky on RV LED's in the Modifications & Upgrades section of the forum...The sticky is the third one down from the top of the listings.

You'll find some background information on LED lighting and some suggestions as to where you can buy them.

I received my new LED bulbs yesterday. They worked out perfect. They seem as bright as the factory bulbs I replaced and 20 bulbs cost less than $40.00. The light color is very similar to the factory bulbs and not harsh or office like. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to for the recommendation.

As I sit here reading the Forum with 4' of snow just about touching my window sill, I can't wait for this winter to end. As do most, I'm sure. I just made an impulse buy on two of these packages from Amazon. I hope my new 2015 Bullet 248 RKS has the 921 bulb, it's sitting at the dealer right now. Why did I click on BUY before I confirmed the part #?? Must have something to do with my current sickness called Cabin Fever. LOL:)

The only light in my new Springdale that wasn't 921 bulbs was the light over the dining table. There were 22 bulbs that were. I bet someone will gladly take them off your hands if they won't work. Sorry about all the snow. I won't mention that it was 70 degrees here in North Arkansas. :o

I changed out all the bulbs in my Laredo....got them from M4. Very easy to replace.

I had to run my head ,1/2 inch of ice with 1 inch of sleet on top , then the next night 1 inch of snow, and now more winter stuff for friday

I have taken advantage of this fine weather we are having (freezing rain, sleet . snow,) to install some LED lights in the TT, they are not as bright and harsh as the 921s however they are a pure white and the light level is more to my liking, I really cant complain as I bought 20 of them for $15.00, one side of my fixture is wired right for them the other side was not, all it took to modify the lights was to unfold the leads from the base turn the head 180 degrees , refold the leads, and then make sure the leads inside the base are not touching

+1 for these most excellent, cost effective bulbs. I just redid all 19 bulbs in my Sprinter 26BHS, and they are great - and $40 for the whole trailer's worth of bulbs!

I just installed these 42-SMD Warm LEDs in my Bullet http://www.ebay.com/itm/261485199274

they closely match the color temp and brightness of the original lighting. Very happy with them, and at a buck a light bulb you can't go wrong. Just remember if the bulb doesn't work when installed just simply remove it and rotate it 180 degrees and re-install to change polarity.

The ones I installed had 42 SMD LEDs and these have 68 SMD LEDs so in theory the should be brighter as the 42 LED version were comparable to the original brightness. Others have used the panel style LEDs or HID LEDs and may be able to comment on them.
