I've been looking at the 300 MP Raptor, but we haven't completely made up our minds as of yet. We're actually looking for insight into finding just the right 5th wheel toyhauler that will work for us!

Price does dictate many a decision, as it does ours, but making sure all the features are available, as well as that which will support our tow vehicle.

Now...where to start?

300 MP Raptor, nice unit. Looked at it. Liked the size, weight but my wife really wanted a separate dinette and chairs, plus a separate couch.

Might want to consider one of these 5th wheel Toyhaulers they are about the same size as 300MP but 8' wide vs 8' 6". Have a look at the Cougar 325SRX or the Montana Mountaineer 347THT. They are priced mid range, good weight, good towing size and good balance of 5th wheel comfort with smaller garage.

I looked at every toyhauler under the sun. I decided to go with the Cougar 325SRX because overall it accomplishes pretty much everything I wanted. I also felt that being keystone they do have toyhauler know-how with raptor so some of that must and is built into this unit. Several items are clearly "borrowed" from the raptor line. Price wise, depending on where you purchase from you'll be well under 40 grand new. Garage big enough for a road bike or my atv or multipurpose room. Inside loft for our little guy when he gets older or storage. Efficient floor plan so I'm not pulling huge weight and not tough on fuel. Just had my first trip with it, getting 13mpg with my dodge 5.7L Diesel, actually better than my travel trailer which was 3,000lbs lighter go figure. Big but I can still get out of trouble spots and just fall in the standard site vs deluxe pull-thru which is usually 20% more. The 347THT Triple slide is nice, but I wanted a separate bathroom and inside loft. I wish I could take both floor plans and make a third unit.

Good luck with your research!

Didn't realize you were from BC until after I posted. So you must be looking at traveland if you're in the lowermainland at the Raptors.

The Cougar 325SRX we bought from Travelhome in Langley BC, it's basically next door to Traveland but the cougar dealer division is across the street by mcgavins bakery. Not sure if you're in the lowermainland or not but I'm assuming such. I special ordered mine because I wanted dual pane windows and freestanding table and chairs. I think they still have one on the lot haven't driven by lately to see if it's sold. We bought two units delivered in October mine and my father-in-law bought one. I will send you a private message with the sales persons contact info. I had a good experience and so far I've made my own mods for personal taste but no complaints.

It's worth taking a look at and talking to him. Check your Private Messages.
