Just wanting to say hello while I am reading over the forum. I just purchased a 2009 VR-1 310bhs as the family's first camper. It's pretty dirty from the previous owner but nothing that soap, water, and elbow grease will not take care of. :D

I was surprised at how well it towed down the road bringing it home yesterday.

The only issue I see so far are the graphics pealing off down the right side and front. It looks pretty bad but I'm just going to just remove it. I'll probably looking into finding replacements later next year some time.

Also if I have questions should I post up in the travel trailer section or the lite weight travel section?

Thanks
John

Thanks for the welcome.

Here is a picture of the truck and travel trailer at the petro station just a few miles away from the residence from where I bought it. I had to stop in and get some nabs for the kids.

Welcome to the forum...its a great place to learn and share. I bought an older trailer several years ago that needed a lot of TLC. It was well worth it for the price I paid. Hope you have good luck and happy camping.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. The trailer is cleaning up very nicely with a lot of work. I found a 3M Decal remover that is removing the old faded and cracked decals without damaging the fiberglass below. Plus some rubbing compound, polish and wax is restoring the fiberglass finish back to a bright white. Hopefully in a few more weekends of work it will be all together. Here are couple more pictures of the mostly cleaned Travel Trailer. I'm debating at the moment on replacing the decals with something from Keystone or just going to a local graphics shop near work and having them make something close to the originals. Any input from previous experiences is a welcome.

Why don't you design your own graphics? That trailer looks great!

Welcome to the forum. As said, you can find decals at most local graphics shops, check for pricing, you can also go to EBay.com and type in "rv decal kits" and you'll find "generic swoosh kits" and/or model specific decal kits for anywhere from $12 to $300. Many of these decals are designed by an "at home" graphics designer and cut on a "crafter's cutting machine". My wife has one such machine that she uses in card making, but so far I haven't gotten her interested in making any decals even though she has the equipment.

You could also go to trekwood.com and in the right half of the home page is a section to select your model specific Keystone RV. Once you do that, you can select from any number of different "OEM categories". One of those categories is decals. You can order the original decals from Trekwood, but the price may make you reluctant to invest that much.

Ebay is a great place to buy a "few matching decals" and design your own graphics scheme. Take pictures along the way as you restore your RV and keep us posted.

Again, welcome, we're happy to have you as a new member.

With a blank "canvas" to work with, the options are limitless. I would find a local custom auto painter and have some custom work painted on. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks for all of the information. After seeing replacement prices from the manufacture I will contact my local graphics company.
