View Full Version : What is the switch and 9-pin port near the stereo for? (2008 Raptor)

My 2008 Raptor has a grey box a few inches in size mounted below the TV area, above the entrance, beside the Stereo receiver. It has a little clear window that reads "Maintenance" and an on-off flat style switch with an LED (which didn't turn on or off when I toggled it) and beside the switch is a 9-pin (serial?) connector angled slightly downward.
Anyone know what this is?
Thanks!

That port is a serial connector. So you can open a connection to it with a computer and see what's going on with it is my guess. That probably why it's labeled "Maintenance"

It is not a factory item. It was added by the previous owner and what it does or did only they know. JM2¢, Hank

Hank, I think you're on to something.
The owner added Dish Satellite. It also has a self aligning dish on the roof. At one point while flipping the switch back and forth I heard a motorized sound coming from the front. I'll bet this has something to do with that Dish set up!
Anyone seen this on a Dish install?

I have it. And, if you don't turn it off while in storage, your batteries will keep dying.

Kelly, is it related to the Dish?
Since I have no working LED on mine I'm going to assume, as with any other electronic device, 'O' is off and '|' is on unless someone tells me otherwise.
Thanks everyone!!!

Mine is, I can't account for any other system's that are out there. Good Luck and happy camping.
