Roof vent extension handle

Has anyone seen an extension handle that will grip the inside knob of a roof vent? Our living room vent is at the limits of my reach (I'm 6' tall) and way out of my wife's reach. An 12-18" extension of some kind would be handy.

I drilled two small holes in the knob (180* apart). We use a long handled hotdog roasting fork to oopen/close the vent.
