Replaced the two interior cheap, and I mean CHEAP, paper speakers in the Passport with $30 250W 2-way Pioneer speakers from Best Buy (on sale). Not the best on the market but 1,000 times better than the stock ones. I did reuse the white OEM speaker grills. I may upgrade even further in the future with a sub-woofer, amp, etc.. I cant believe they put such cheapies in there, oh wait, I can.

Just out of curiosity, why did you get 250W speakers? I think the standard Jensen speakers are only 60W. My Jensen head unit I have outputs 132W. What is your Jensen output?

Also, I was wondering how much better the sound is with the new speakers. The stock speakers in my 2015 27DBS Hideout sound like you are in a tunnel and you really have to crank it hear anything when the AC is running, which causes

Family,
250 watt because that's what best buy had on sale and they sound awesome! If I ever add an amp they will still work just fine. The cheapie OEM head units put out minimal wattage but can drive these speakers nicely, the old ones sounded terrible and started crackeling so it was past time to replace them. I will also add a subwoofer and one more speaker, but note, in the back of the head unit they snip of the other channels wires on the harness plug, so tieing in can be challenging. Mine has about a quarter inch of wire left on them.

I just installed 2 pairs of 2-way 180 watt peak infinity speakers over the weekend. They were a bit more money than I wanted to spend, but they sounded killer and I could not resist spending the extra money and it was money well spent. Everything sounds fantastic with them. My next step will be adding a subwoofer too. Just need to figure out a good location to hide it in the Hideout. :)

So are these car speakers? Is that what I should be replacing them with?
Our speakers have crackled from the beginning. Keystone replaced one and it started crackling again soon after. We were thinking that it might be the wiring but now I'm thinking that maybe it's just the quality of the speakers so it's worth trying to replace them.
Thanks,

Here are the speakers I got from Best Buy. They sound amazing! And yes they are car speakers. I just had to drill 4 holes for each speaker, but the magnet fit in the opening perfect. You will also notice the larger magnet on the Infinity speakers.

I think this will be a project for next summer. Closing up for the winter this weekend. :(

Speaker upgrades are usually the first thing I have done to the last several RVs I have purchased. When I sell, I put the stockers back in and use the good ones on the next rig.

I just put a set of Pioneer TS-A1685R 4 Way Car Speakers (http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A1685R-Car-Speaker-Voies/dp/B00A0LYU2S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413400261&sr=8-1&keywords=Pioneer+TS-A1685R) in my truck, they sound great! I am going to put them in the trailer this spring.

I just replaced the speakers in my 327RES with 5-1/4" Infinity Reference speakers from Crutchfield. They fit in the same ceiling cutouts. Big, big difference.

Has anybody replaced the exterior speakers? If so, what brand and model? And did the original cover work?

Crutchfield usually carries an upgrade speaker for RV exteriors.

For exterior speaker replacement check out Poly Planar. These are well made marine speakers that are extremely UV and weather resistant. You can find them on Amazon at reasonable prices.

Might be doing this sooner than later. Great idea as we have had a PP for a couple days and noticed that the speakers were blah....
