Looking for some ideas suggestions on where to connect the emergency brake wire.

Where are other people connecting them?:)

I usally hook mine over the hitch handle or I pull one of the cotter keys that holds the 5th wheel plate to the assembly, slip the cable through the pin and replace the cotter key.

Over the hitch handle has worked well for me for 18 years. Just be sure it will not snag on anything while turning. JM2¢, Hank

Similar to Hank, I attach mine to the locking pin for the hitch handle. Once attached, I assure that the line is not caught on the hitch or under any edges. I would hate to be heading down I-35 at 60mph and have the trailer brakes lock!

On my B&W Companion hitch, there's a hole at the front of the hitch pad - I bought a small shackle at the local hardware store and use that to hook the brake cable on - so far no issues with it hanging up on anything

Since I put a pad lock through my hitch handle latch, I attach the break-a-way switch cable to the pad lock.

I attach mine over the handle for the slider.

Personally I do not attach it to the hitch.... just in case the hitch pulls out... there are lots of points on the truck bed you can hook it too... mine even has some little D rings in the corners
