So the factory light strip is coming loose/buckling under the awning. It's under warranty but I would prefer not to drag it to the dealer. Not sure how it's attached or what the best fix is?http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/06/e13243514c296b566cff3d9d45a31147.jpg

Most of the strips have adhesive on the back side. Repair? I haven't found a satisfactory one other than replacement.

Maybe clean both surfaces real good, and then try to apply a new adhesive to the strip.

3m double sided tape. I used small pieces spaced out to reattach my light strip.

3M makes a automotive trim double sided tape that is waterproof and holds well in almost any conditions. I'd try that rather than a "conventional" double sided tape.

Clean, clean, clean...or I would bet you'll see the same thing again.

You might try running a small bead of caulking on the top side as well. This will stop any water from getting behind the tape. Don't caulk the bottom though...so that if water does get in, it can drain out.

Go to your local glass shop and ask them for glazing tape ( double sided thin foam ) that's what I used. My LEDs looked like yours after 3 days. Put the glazing tape on 6months ago never sagged again. And clean surfaces with denatured alcohol.

Have also used thin 3m that they use in auto industry.
