Can anyone give me any advice on replacing the floor in a 2005 Challenger 5th wheel such as thickness of floor, best procedures in removing and installing the floor without removing the slide out from the camper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your talking about the actual "floor" as in the wood under the cabinets, carpet and such, I don't think there is a way.

The slide rides on the floor and as such the walls are supported by the floor. We did a slide floor replacement and it was quite a task. We did remove the slide from the trailer and then laid it down on it's back (exterior) while we replaced the floor and treated dry rot. IIRC we used 1 1/4" plywood flooring, and sealed the bottom with the same material used on the bottom of slides.

Then we put it back in and hooked everything back up. Needless to say it was a daunting task, not having the same lifting jigs the factory might have, but I wouldn't recommend anybody do this as a DIY without some serious equipment and help.

I replaced the bedroom slide out floor on a 2009 Raptor. It took me about 2 working days over two weekends because of the inevitable runs to the store to get various screws, bolts, etc. It's certainly doable for an experienced DIY'er.

I did not remove the slide out. Instead, I used some bracing on the outside to hold it in the fully open position while leaving the underside clear to work on.

I found a few youtube videos that helped give me a general idea about what to expect, although there were some differences in construction as compared to my Raptor.
