I recently purchased the Alpine 3500RE and now that the leveling system is wired correctly, I use the auto level with a little more confidence.
But after watching a Youtube video on the leveling system, I saw it has a feature where you can hit the left and right buttons together and it is supposed to take the coach back to the point where you hit the auto level button when you're ready to hook up to the tow vehicle to leave.
Well when I hit those buttons together on my unit I get an error of "feature disabled". Any idea how I can "enable" this feature? I see nothing in the manuals I have looked at.

Thanks,

G

According to Lipperts manual it says when you receive that error to:

“FEATURE DISABLE” > Cycle Main Power or system not Zero Calibrated.

To Zero Calibrate follow the sequence below:
ZERO SETTING THE CONTROL
1. Turn “ON/OFF” button “OFF”
2. Push “FRONT” button 10 times,
3. Push “REAR” button 10 times
4. Control will flash and beep, LCD says “ZERO POINT CALIBRATE”
5. To memorize this level condition , press “ENTER”
6. LCD says “ZERO POINT STABILITY SUCCESSFULLY SET”
7. The control will then turn off.
8. Turn “ON/OFF” on to commence operation.

What's odd though is in another Lippert manual it states this is the reason for the error...
“Feature disabled” - This will happen only during Hitch Recognition. This indicates that the landing gears were not fully retracted prior to starting the unhitch process.

I guess you will have to try both to see which one fixes your issue. Hope this helps.

The process to fix your problem has already been stated. To be honest, I never use the feature since I tend to have the 5er a little lower for hook than unhooking. I guess it gets you close, but I just like using manual mode to set all of the jacks where I want them. The system is definitely fun to watch when leveling though. A few times it even attracted a crowd as people watched it go through the dance. Just don't forget to pull the truck out of the way before you start. BTW, we love our 3500 RE

Ain't that the truth. Each time I thought it was done, it had to dance another round...just about took all my PDI time. Not really but jeez....
