Had a great week at Arbuckle Lake but man was it hot 98-101 F. Our site had pretty good morning & evening shade but from 12-5 it was cooking, the main 15K a/c didn't stand a chance of keeping it below 80F in there. Of course that's still better then the 101F the folks in tents were suffering. I really felt for some of those folks, they looked miserable. The bedroom A/C will be installed this week before our next trip out, I put it off too long & really wish I hadn't. :o Other then that we had a great time, it was nice & quiet last week, the calm before the storm I guess.

kristi,
You wont regret that purchase. That was one the main things I had to have when we bought our 5er. ITs paid for itself in these NC hot and humid days.
Now I am looking forward to some fall weather camping. Today it is beautiful outside low 80s & no humidity. I just wish I was off to enjoy it..

We just had a beautiful weekend but never needed the AC, in fact all summer we only used it 3-4 times. All summer it has only hit 90 I think 4 times. Enjoy the AC when it goes in.

Randy- I grew up on the Carolina Coast near Jville, 80s & low humidity is rare this time of year Enjoy!

Gary- Rub it in already! ;) Just remember in a few months you'll be shoveling snow & we will still be camping... :D

Kristi, believe me, Labor Day is here so for us, our days are numbered. Don't like that at all.

It was hotter in Galveston in April http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/funny/1/shark-attack-smiley-emoticon.gif (http://www.sherv.net/)than it has been here all summer. Right now it's 74*, The hottest day so far was July 21, it was 90*. July 22 it was 68 and the next hottest this summer was 81 (yesterday). Nights are about 55-60 and we've turned on the A/C maybe 4 or 5 days, mainly to get rid of the humidity.

If this summer is any indication of things to come, I certainly hope the pole barn door doesn't get iced in again this year !!!!! http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/winter/winter-clothing-smiley-emoticon.gif (http://www.sherv.net/)

If it does, we'll be measuring the temps in Galveston all winter long http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/christmas/snowman-4.gif (http://www.sherv.net/)

Let's hope old man winter is a little gentler this year for you if not have a great season in Galveston. Maybe we will see you down there.

We plan to be there in March/April regardless of how winter goes "up here".... Sometimes, ya just gotta escape that "S" word......

A record cool summer. I don't think it has broken 100 degrees in Houston yet!
