Hello again, all!

I am still loving my '13 27RLSWE trailer, and have done some recent upgrades to make it more "boondocking-ready."

I purchased 4 Interstate GC2 6V batteries, which are running in series and parallel. One thing I noticed when removing the dealer-installed battery, is that there is no in-line fuse. The positive lead, however, runs to the frame and is attached to what looks like a short breaker (shortstop?). Everything I have read online demands an in-line fuse, so I was planning on installing one just for extra protection in the box where the batteries are mounted on the tongue. I have 4AWG wiring interconnecting the batteries, as well as the leads off of the batteries. What size fuse should I get? 30A enough?

The positive lead, however, runs to the frame ...

Hopefully you meant the NEGATIVE lead runs to the frame.

wtxdxer, Howdy;

Hopefully you meant the NEGATIVE lead runs to the frame.

NO, he meant and did state the POSITIVE lead ...
Keep reading the rest of the sentence ... " The positive lead, however, runs to
the frame and is attached to what looks like a short breaker (shortstop?)."

Fantastic example of what happens
when a bit of information is jumped upon and the rest (the part that makes
sense), is left out...
