2005 Outback Sydney 30FRKS no vanity lights.

I bought a nice used 2005 Outback Sydney 30FRKS. All 12v electrical seems to work except the vanity lights above the sink. It has two wires feeding into the connection for the vanity lights but everything 12v except these lights appear to work. Is there a 'magic switch' like the switch by the door for the overhead lights? I have checked the fuse panel and all fuses appear to be good. Any ideas or comments welcomed.

Some of your interior ceiling lights won't work unless you have one of the "master" wall-mounted light switches on. On our unit, the main ceiling lights and bedroom/bathroom lights work this way. Try turning one or both of the wall-mounted main light switch to the ON position.

The 'master switch beside the entry door does turn on the 3 living area lights in the ceiling. The lights in the bedroom area appear to all work, over head, bathroom, reading lights beside bed and the exhaust fan. It is puzzling for sure as this wire to the vanity lights has two wire pairs feeding the light. One would think something else is not working. And if that is the case, I haven't found it yet.

Many times there is an "off/on" switch located on the light assembly as well as a wall switch. You might find this the situation with your Sydney.

I have taken down the fixture and applied 12v to the fixture wires. The bulbs are good as is the switch.

The problem is in the wiring and/or hidden and magical switch. Using my VOM, I have no voltage on the wires. None, Nada, Zilch.

I will get out tomorrow and spend time trying to located where the wires go. I did not see this wire color in the electrical distribution box.

Make sure they didn't pickup the hot for the switch from the ground fault outlet at the vanity. Check to see if it needs to be reset.

Thanks for the thought. It never hurts to have a second opinion and to ensure someone has already checked the bulbs.

I highly doubt is a GFI outlet problem as the lights are 12v dc and the GFI is for 120v ac/ Wish it were that simple.

I have considered getting a 120vac to 12vdc one amp transformer to power the lights when in a campground. Won't be a problem if the LED lamps i have on order work and they provide provide enough illumination. The vanity lights aren't needed and/or critical when dry camping or stopped at a rest area.

..Many of the wires on our Springdale originated in one color and terminated in another. Red became blue, green became yellow, etc. So don't rely on what you see at the distribution box as being what you'll find on the other end. It may be, but it just as well may change color at a junction or a tie in somewhere in the underbelly.

Mystery solved!!! I found a white wire/neutral that had slipped out of the crimp of 4 wires. It probably made connection over the years while it was touching the other wires in the crimp. The problem was found behind the fan and light switched in the bathroom wall.

Now on to the wobbling table and how to fix it.
