hello fellow RVers - we've been on the road since the end of june and having a great time! we will be in fruita, co. and plan to go to buena vista/salida area. we are pulling a 26 ft. trailer and wondering which road would be best. hwy 50 from grand junction? or going east on the 70 and connecting with the 24? both seem to have curves, but which one would easiest to negotiate? thanks for any info.

Both could be great. I'd probably take 50 unless you want to go through Glenwood Springs and stop at the hot spring pool. That's pretty nice.

Either way you're faced with some steep climbs. Hwy 50 goes over Monarch Pass which is higher than you would get on 24, but 50 is a much better road, with passing lanes where others will be trying to pass you.
Both routes go thru beautiful parts of Co with interesting sites to see.
