Soon to be new owner here of a like new used 2005 Montana Mountaineer 333RBBS. Pristine on the inside and out, looks like it was hardly used.
Looking for pros and cons on this trailer and any recalls or things I should know about.
New to the RV world, soon to retire, 24 months or less and looking at 3-4 month trips to get out of the Florida heat.
I will pull this with a 2012 Chevrolet 1500 LT with the tow package rated for 9600 pounds. The trailer comes in at 8120 or so unloaded. Sway stabilizer included in the purchase of the trailer.
Trailer has new tires on it.

Thanks for the help,

:wlcm: to the forum mwoods!

Here's the 2005 Brochure for the Mountaineer
http://www.keystonerv.com/media/1042445/2005.mountaineer.brochure.pdf.pdf

You can locate any recalls on the manufacturer website:
http://www.keystonerv.com/customer-service/recalls-notifications

Spend some time reading in the *Towing* section of the forum, there's lots of good 1/2 ton info already posted.
Confirm that your truck is going to be a good match for the "loaded" trailer... the Mountaineer is not a light-weight line/brand, and that's a very heavy hitch weight @ 1,180 lbs (empty)!

Good luck & travel safely,
Terri, the Chevy co-pilot :)

Guys,

A big thank you for the links and responses.

The trailer has to much weight at the hitch for the 1500 LT, its max is 1100 and the trailer is at 1180.

I am going to pass on this "deal" due to being to close to max towing weight and over the hitch max weight.

It doesn't leave me much room for error in my opinion and I really do not want to chance it.
