It was a big week (and tiring) for me and my '05 F150 XLT 5.4L. After getting my plugs changed at 80K miles (solved all of the issues I was having) I decided to install a K&N Performance Intake to replace the stock system and also installed an Air Lift air bags and onboard compressor system.

As for the K&N system, I immediately noticed a faster and smoother throttle response and it seems the engine is having to work less. I think my MPGs will show a slight increase, too. Took about 3.5 hours to install.

The Air Lift air bags are the RideControl series with an Air Lift WirelessOne compressor kit. Took me about 8.5 hours today to install this...a little challenging when having to do so much work under the truck without a lift. Glad it is done. Seems to work great, but will have to play with it some more before really knowing how it does. Will add some accessories later (air tank, additional air lines/valves, etc...).

Hoping all of this will help with towing my 274RLS. A little more power and a stiffer rear-end.

Air bags are da bomb.. And onboard air makes them better. Being able to adjust the ride as the road changes is the way to go. Congrats on all your work.
