We are thinking about camping in Vermont this fall (September/October) to see the fall colors.

What do y'all recommend?

Long-john's and a winter coat? :D

Sorry Jim, :o I couldn't help myself... the devil made me do it! :p
As a southern NM resident I'd probably be bundled-up for winter <LOL>!

We went to Vermont last late-September and stayed for 6 days in Quechee/Pine Valley KOA. It was an absolutely beautiful campground. The fall colors were just beginning. By the time you get there it will be spectacular!

We love the Pine Valley Queechee KOA, heading up there in a few weeks. Lake Champagne Campground is nice as well. People love the Lake Champlain area but we have not camped there. We are spending a week in the White Mountain area of NH in Sept/Oct and expect it to be cool for sure. Enjoy.

We live in Vermont near Burlington. In this part of the state the temperatures are more mild because of the lake. Lone Pine is a place we have gone to multiple times. Timing is everything when it comes to foliage. If your time is off by a week you will miss out. The Champlain valley is a little later with color and the state is small enough that most other parts of the state can be reached within couple of hours. If it's still green here, you can be in areas with peak foliage in less than an hour.

Good Morning Jim,
Saw your post this morning as I'm camping at Apple Island Resort. It's located on Grand Isle on Lake Champlain. depending on route you can drive to it or take a ferry. The ferry was pretty cool, it's capable to more than accommodate the RV. We have a 40' Fuzion with a 1 ton dually. Went on a 100 mile ride with the motorcycles, lot to see. Plenty of foliage, the camp site is nice. the web site is very accommodating and what you see is what you get. We came in from the west (MN). Here's the web site.
have fun Russell
