Finished up the LED strip yesterday. I mounted it a little different than others. Used these mounts that I got at Lowes along with some epoxy. I measured between LEDs and determined that spacing the mounts every six inches would not block any lights. This mount lets me use zip ties so that if there is ever a problem with the light strip, it can easily be removed. The IP68 (waterproof) strip that I ordered did not have an adhesive backing so instead of dealing with double sided tape that may or may not hold in the heat of NM summer or the cold of a northern winter I went this route.

I placed the mounts just under the awning but above the entry light.

I'm pretty happy with everything and more importantly the wife loves it. I have about $40 into the mod. I got the lights on ebay: 5M IP68 Waterproof Tube 5050 300Leds RGB LED Strip 24Key IR Mini Controller | eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251538470367&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160) They shipped from overseas and arrived 6 days ahead of schedule.

The light strip has a connector at each end. I cut the unused end off and sealed it with the epoxy. I extend the four wire lead so that I could run it down the forward awning bracket and into my forward pass-through. Power is fed from the awning circuit through a rocker switch.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Are yours mounted to the frame?
