We took the Cougar XLite to the dealer to have some loose moulding repaired and bought a ......Montana High Country 305RL.
We've been internet shopping and thinking about upgrading for a little while. This seemed like the time to do it.
I feel like I'm chasing my tail. Bought the Cougar, then upgraded to the Ford diesel, then...what the heck..the truck will pull more.
Pick it up Wednesday. Holiday World Houston.

You're not, by any chance, related to Kristi, another forum member who went shopping for a shower head and came back with a new RV.........????:D

Heck yeah. Just post up a few days ahead or PM me.
I do have a slight chance of spending Jan-Mar in Qatar. Shell Pearl GTL plant outage. Boss said it's just like So. Cal. in the winter! Ha. He said Laredo TX was a garden spot too.
I can always say no, I'm retired.

Heck, they grow "damaders" in Laredo, don't they? That makes it a "garden spot"

My SIL spent 3 years in Saudi as a tech rep. They went to Qatar on R&R and to escape. He said the escape was more to see palm trees rather than sand, otherwise, it was the same, HOT in summer and WET in winter.

If you do go, enjoy, I'll keep my feet firmly planted right here where fifth wheels and campgrounds "abound" LOL

Since I've never been near the Mid-East, it sounds like quite the adventure! But if they're throwing bombs at each other I'll just say no. Might just say no anyway, and go ahead and me and the bride sign up for Soc Sec and call it "done".

Congrats on the new trailer Gearhead!! DH votes for Ruby Red -- we met Ruby (the person) last summer at the Shiner tour :D Nice lady, neat lil town!

Terri, the Chevy co-pilot :)

I really need to do the Shiner tour. Been near it countless times but never stopped. They produce some good seasonal beers. Ruby Redbird will wake up your taste buds. Beer with grapefruit juice in it sounds terrible, but on a hot summer day it is great.

Congrats on the trailer....

One time I took our ATVs in for service.... And was mesmerized by the intoxicating smell of new tire/plastic/gasoline/oil/andeverythingmotorcyclerelated.... And came home with two BRAND NEW bigger ATVs....

Enjoy the new camper, you should be very comfortable. On another note, Quatar is definitely not the worst place in the AOR, but it is definitely not SoCal. Of some of the other places uncle Sam had me visit, that was definitely one of the less crappy. If they want to dump some cash on you fora few months, take it and run. Congrats on the new rig, enjoy, stay safe.

Kristi -
Apparently gearhead isn't absolutely sure that you two aren't related and suggested a DNA test. I think he may be on to something.

Thanks.
And yeah, I had family in Houston early....about 1838. Liberty County about 1819. Ancient history in these parts!
After years of family research, I've come to the conclusion we're all related one way or another.
I'll post some pics next week.
