So I was tired of the hose falling out while filling my freshwater tank at the State Park we camp in so I got one of those cheap attachments that have a 4 inch clear plastic spout you stick into the entrance to keep the hose from falling out when filling. Catch is that little 4 inch clear plastic spout came off and dropped into my fresh water tank!

So...is this going to cause problems or simply spend its life floating and rolling around in the tank? The two potential problems I can think of are ...

1. Plugging up the drainage hole?
2. Interfering with my water pump?

Please reassure me it won't cause me problems or impact my checkbook?

The chances or it plugging up your tank drain are very remote. As for interfering with your water pump, the pickup hose for the pump is relatively small and there's definitely not enough suction to pull that 4" clear plastic piece into the pump impeller. You'll be fine unless you just happen to turn your RV on its top, then, all bets are off, your checkbook would probably suffer more in that event than the fresh water tank... LOL

If you do have to turn your RV upside down and shake it to get it out make sure you empty your black tank. Trust me on this.......I learned the hard way.....:surprise:

That sounds quite the unfortunate story - definitely a story after sitting around the fire drinking a few

I am not saying this was the right thing to due. I lost 2 of those into the tank on my last rv. Thery where in there for 3-4 years. No problems. Mine fell off while filling in cold temps. I fixed the problem by putting on a hose clamp. Lets take a poll, how many others lost one into their fresh water tank.

I just bought one but haven't used it yet. I'm going to add a hose clamp after reading the most recent post!

I just use the end of an old hose that had holes in it (pack rats) but that end was still good. No way for it to come off.

In our 'complimentary' starter kit, we received a short(8") 1/2" hose cut at a 45* angle on one end with a female fitting on the other end. Screw this on the end of our fill hose. I think they sell these at CW?
