I made a battery box to house my 4x 6v batteries last night. My only problem is I'm keeping the 12v battery and adding the 6v's and teeing the vent hoses together from the 6v box and the 12v box. I can't find vent hose to match the 1.75" ID of the OE vent hose. Where does everyone get theirs?

Do a Google search for "battery box vent hose (https://www.google.com/search?q=battery+box+vent+hose&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS526US526&oq=battery+box+vent+hose&aqs=chrome..69i57.4504j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8)", it turns up all kinds of options for the hose. If you were closer I'd give you some. :)

I've checked ebay and amazon. I've also checked big box hardware store and a local hardware store. Found nothing yet. Problem is the 1.75" ID.

Quad,

When I was looking for vent hose I couldn't find it at any of the "typical places" Lowes, hardware, HD, etc. I finally found it at a local RV parts place. They had it on a roll, sold by the foot. All the T's, Y's and elbow adapters were sitting in boxes. They made it really easy to adapt anything to anything. I don't think you're going to find it at a "normal" or "big box" store. Shipping will probably be more than the hose if you try to order online. Might just make a detour to an RV parts house/service center next time you're close to one. Good Luck !!!

Thanks JRTJH, I tried a RV store about 15 mins away. They can order it but said I had to buy 25' of it. I have another RV store about 45 mins away I can try too. But I'm never that way and would have to make a special trip for it. But they are a larger store and wouldst likely have what I need in stock.

Quad, Before making a 45 minute drive, why not call them and ask if they have it, how much and any other questions you might have. It'd be a long way to go just to find out they are "out of stock right now" :(

Quad, Howdy;

Did a quick search for 13/4" flex hose,
found the following;
http://www.amazon.com/Dayco-81321-Flex-Hose-1-3/dp/B000C0WNSK/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1400028693&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=13%2F4%22+flex+hose
and

Personally I like the second one best ...

I'm about to go to four 6v batteries also - but why are you keeping the 12v ones? Hope they're not wired in with the 6's.

Trucker you don't happen to have a close up of it do you? Or remember what you used? The pictures are a little fuzzy when I zoom in.

Hey Quad, I got around to it and took some pics,hope this helps. The pipe& fittings are 1 1/2 ABS .the fittings going into the boxes are 1 1/2 ABS street elbows. I cut some collars off a 1 1/2 coupling to hold them into the lid. the "T" fitting I think is called a sanitary T ,also 1 1/2 ABS. the uprite pipe with elbow at top connects to original vent hose with rubber sleeve out of a repair coupling.the blue hose is from the bulk misc. hose dept. by the foot, at Home Depot. good luck,---Lou---
