It seems I have no power from my switch to the awning. I have power to the switch and leaving the switch but somewhere there is a splice. The wire from the awning and from the switch are different. Does anyone know where the splice is located?

Hi. I had a similar issue on my unit when it was brand new. On mine, there was a solid state relay hanging in the bees nest of wires behind the control panel that was defective. The relay is black, about 2.5" long by 3/4" wide by 1/2 thick. This condition allowed power past the switch but not through the relay which powers the awning motor. I had the relay replaced under warranty. I was able to get the awning to open and close by manually using jumper wires and bypassing the relay while I waited for the relay to arrive. It was an easy fix.
I have photos if you need them.

You might check the connector at the top of the arm where the power is supplied to the motor. This weekend while washing and waxing mine I happened to notice that the small two way black connector, wasn't connected 100%. Never lost power to the awning but it wasn't plugged in all the way. I believe this connector is there so you can run some jumper wires up to it and give the motor power to retract it in case of a problem elsewhere.

Thanks for the picture but thats not what I have. I found the splice it was in the wall behind the vertical rail of the awning. Keystone said that they dont splice them there!! Yeah right.

If you found this, it should be fairly easy. Unplug the splice and hookup a voltmeter across it. Push the button. If you have voltage, then the wiring from there going into the motor is broken or the motor is broken. If not, then it may be the switch or something in behind your control panel that is connected to the switch.

Bad splice. Found it behind a big blob of silicon in the sidewall behind the vertical awning rail. Keystone told me they don't splice in the wall!

Probably not normal, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I'm sure the guys that build it have prints to follow, but lets say its a friday afternoon at 3:45 pm and they leave at 4...

So far the only noticeable thing I have seen is a bolt missing from the bracket that holds the power awning. Going to have to get that looked at soon I think. Nice blob of silicon there, I assume they squirt it in prior to installing the bolt....yet no bolt. :(
