I am so excited about this. One of my Bucket List items is to go All The Way.

On May 9 I will be riding my Harley with three friends, American Legion and Patriot Guard Riders, to Rancho Cucamonga, California.

On May 14, the Run For The Wall 2014 leaves there for a 10 day trip to Washington, D. C. and the ride ends at the Vietnam Memorial Wall. On Sunday we ride in Rolling Thunder and the FNGs get to ride through Arlington National Cemetery. Rolling Thunder will comprise a few hundred thousand bikes.

It is a big deal for two reasons, make that three. It is my FNG (Friendly New Guy and other translations) year, I get my All The Way badge and I get to ride in honor of three friends who gave all. Two High School friends KIA and a former Supervisor's brother who is still MIA.

On Leg 4 on Day 4 I have the honor of being the Missing Man escort. I get to be the 2nd bike and the spot next to me is empty....the missing Man. My Missing Man escort ride will be from Raton, New Mexico to Pueblo, Colorado.

In Washington D. C. I will be sounding Taps at the Wall and I will be sounding Taps as the last bike of Rolling Thunder passes "The Saluting Marine" (Google it) by his personal request.

Here is the Itinerary if you are not familiar with Run For The Wall.

Have a great trip. Have never done the run for the wall....yet! When I was stationed in NM, the DW and I would take a trip with the Legion Riders to BAMC each year. That is an awesome experience. My DW served in Iraq and I served in Afghanistan, hope someday our generation can have something similar to the wall, it is truly amazing!
