Well finally got our power and internet back on. We spent the last few days without power due to the ice storm in central NC. All this talk of quiet generators, I thank God that I had a noisey one. I was able to run my gas heat, my well pump for hot showers and just kept the frig and freezer running with a little lighting. I feel for those folks who dealt with hurricane Sandy for weeks and weeks of this mess.
On top of that we had the grandson all weekend. he has been a trooper through it all, had fun with him all weekend.
Work is calling, our building is still without power. We are going into emergency operations mode. I am the only one(my department) with a plan in place, the rest will have to wing and prayer it. Logistic's rules!!
Missed checking this forum for 3 days..

Someone asked me today, why we did not use camper. I had to hook the generator up one way or the other. Might as well be in the house. Plus we had NO water in the camper, it was winterized.

Just venting or expressing!
thanks,
randy

Good to hear that all is well. We're on the Texas coast and have dealt with power outages during hurricanes. Pretty much the same as an ice storm I think. Just 80 degrees hotter! We built our retirement home 3 years ago. Had a whole house natural gas generator added. I don't think it has run more than 4 hours. I'm fine with that!
We are headed your way when it warms up.

Glad you are back, outages are a pain but a generator sure helps, glad it worked out for you.

Glad to hear the lights are coming back on! Ice storms & power outages can be rough. Got caught back in 99 or 2000 by an ice storm that knocked out power for 9 days & my house at the time was total electric. To say we were not prepared was an understatement! Now I have gas heat, stove top, & hot water tank as well as a generator for everything else.

My cousin and her family in Greensboro had to move in with my Aunt & Uncle at the retirement place for 2 days. Course Aunt & Uncle had a blast with the grandkids.

Glad all is ok! we were with out power during sandy for seven days. Well that's not true. We have a diesel generator 4 cylinder. very quiet compared to the air cooled ones. The guy nextdoor to me laughed when i was putting it in.He stopped laughing when i ran a power cord over to his house to power up some of his stuff too.:D
