Looking for Oceanfront Campgrounds in New England.
I've missed most of the deadlines for getting a good site for this year, so I'm trying to put together my list of places to book for next year and book them.
This season I've got a lot of lakefront campgrounds to try, but next year I'd really like oceanfront.
Any recommendations? (Or places that are just terrible and to beware of?)
Thanks!!(tx)
Great post Katie.
I am very interested in the responses also.

Campers Haven in Dennis, Ma (Cape Cod) they have their own ocean beach! You are not right on the water but you can walk or take the shuttle to the beach. You are packed in really tight but there has to be a sacrifice for the beach. Another thing to consider is that they are a bit pricy but then again you won't be paying twenty bucks for beach parking each day and you don't have to pack or buy lunch every day either. Not big waves so it is good for young families.

We stayed at Recompence Shores a couple years ago. Horrible experience; there septic system backed up into the shower stalls. They just shrugged their shoulders and said they would call the septic company on Monday. The back up occurred Saturday morning. The staff was aware and had not closed the shower house. We were tent camping; I don't recall if or where they had full service sites or a dump station. Also, the campground is on a bluff overlooking the water. If you have any problems climbing steps you will probably have issues getting to and from the water. Just my $.02; we will never use them again.
