One thing bothers me, and maybe this is the wrong forum to ask, but when you have 50A available, is there any way to check both sides for open neutral, etc. before you plug in? I'm used to 30A and use my 30 to 20 adapter and 120V circuit tester and voltmeter to check things before plugging in, but assume that a 50A to 30A adapter only uses one side of the 50A circuit so I will only be testing one side. I might just always use a 30A circuit if available as I don't have a second air conditioner or washer/dryer. Any thoughts on this? Is a 50A circuit tester available? Don't think I've ever seen one.

The closest store bought tester is one of the 50a surge suppressors. I think all of the good ones self test the power at the pedestal before passing power to your RV.

Also take a look at this home made tester

Wow! Thanks for that link. That is EXACTLY what I was thinking about. Maybe I'll just have to make me one.
