Going Saturday to look at a 2014 fuzion 300 that a dealer has had on there lot since early fall. I ask them if the slide was left out all winter and they said yes. We have had a lot of cold single number days and snow. Anybody know if I it's a bad idea to let the slide out in the winter or is it OK?

Dealerships do it all the time. Mine was probably open for close to year. should not hurt a thing.

Almost all dealerships leave the slides out until the unit sells. Many of them even move the units around on the sales lot with the slides out. If you notice, none of them have jacks down either..... So much for following the "owner's manual" I suppose that's written for "owners" not "dealers" LOL

If the slide has been out and ice/snow has sat on top of the slide, I'd check the corners of the slide opening and the flooring around the slide carefully to make sure there hasn't been a leak and the water frozen to make a mess around the slide seals. If things look dry and clean, I'd say you have nothing to worry about. The slides are made to support about 1000 lbs of "cargo" (people) in the extended position, so a little snow won't make much difference. I wouldn't think the snow load would damage anything.

Just check everything very carefully, don't forget to raise the carpet in the slide and look under it for any signs of water staining.

Good Luck

4th winter and no leaks. We move them when we can but it's been a prteey tough winter this year. Heat pumps cranked to 80 today to melt things for the next round
