Is this enough hitch for my setup

I'm new to rv'ing and need some help as I'm not familiar with towing capacities.

I would say NO. If you look at the information in the 5th picture, the spring bars are rated at 600 lbs. Now, if you go to the last picture, the chart on the hitch indicates that with 600 lb spring bars, max hitch weight is 600 lbs and max trailer weight is 10,000 lbs. Your RV tongue weight is 750 lbs empty, and more when loaded for travel.

Besides, this is a "Chinese knockoff" if that's the kind of hitch you want, go to Harbor Freight with the 20% off coupon and you can buy them all day long for $125-150. The advertised one isn't a good buy even if you could use it with your trailer.

Fully loaded you could well be over 1000# on the hitch so that one doesn't look hefty enough. Also, at that length with that truck I would sure want an anti-sway. I don't see it there. It's going to cost a lot more but I would encourage you to look at the Equal-i-zer brand (no a generic equalizer). You may also want to check out an electric jack for the trailer. Sure makes hooking and unhooking easier--with just a press of a button.

Don't skimp here. You spent a lot of money for the trailer. Get the best hitch you can afford.

Definitely not, u will need a stronger setup. I had the Reese SC hitch it worked well for me but I believe the Equalizer brand is superior to it.

Thanks for the reply guys. Not in a hurry as my TT is parked on my land for the next few months. I'll not skimp once I start taking it on the road. BTW, my Springdale does have an electric hitch jack.

In a related note, part of the deal with my purchase is a new Equalizer hitch and brake controller. Is it possible to have too much hitch? I'm getting a TT that weighs about 4,500 lbs with gear and the tongue weight will be 450ish. I read somewhere that a hitch that is too rated too high will make the ride stiff. Is that accurate?

Your GVW is 5400 lbs (tlr empty wt + cargo capacity). Tongue weight for travel trailers should be maintained between 11% to 15%. So, your tongue weight at max load should be somewhere between 594 and 810 lbs. Realistically, you should look at a 1000 lbs hitch rating.

I would recommend the Reese Dual cam or Equalizer at the minimum or a Hensley or Propride Hitch . I started with the pro series hitch with 1200lb bars and two friction sway control for our 303. After many trips to the scales I have it dialed in and I am 95% confident with the set-up. Only 95% because of the length and possibility of sudden sway in wind or highway conditions with the friction sway control. I will be installing a Hensley Hitch this spring, I found a used one at a great price. This will be the last upgrade I need. The most important thing to remember, no matter what you decide, is proper set up of the hitch, weight distribution bars, brake controller, and where the weight is in the TT.

This is my 3rd season with Pro Series V-5 WTH; with one sway bar combination has been very stable on the freeway and back roads. Trailer purchased new in March of 2012 and came with the above WTH. No problems or complaints have done both measurement system to insure weight transfer and checked on scale. Same hitch as you show advertised except I have the 1,200Lb rated spring bar and hitch is set for tongue weight maximum of 1,500Lb. WTH, Power King tires, FloJet water pump and probably more items, all made in China. Sad.
