I think my converter is in need of replacement and I think it's a 45amp converter. My question is can I put a 100amp converter in instead?

Before spending $$$$$, why do you think the converter is bad?

NOT sure where I read it but you should not change your converter to much from original. I had a WICO 55 amp that did go bad. I replaced it with a Progressive Dynamics 9260 series with 4 way battery charging system. This was moving from 55amp to a 60 amp unit.
Pain in the rear to change out as that space it is located in, behind the fuse and breaker panel box, there ain't much room to work in. BIG guy with big hands working in a space that was open before they installed the cabinets, ON my belly.. what should be an easy job turned into a all day job. but everything works as it should now.
Just saying if you have 45 amp you should not move it much more than to a 50-60 amp range. NOT sure if 100amp would be to your advantage..

What model converter do you have? You may have a larger unit than you think, especially with a large 5th wheel that you have. Didn't even think they made a unit that big, ours is a 90amp in our 2012 3402 Montana. As was asked previous, what is happening that makes you think a new unit is needed?
