Water Heater lighting problem?

I usually hear the DSI go tick, tick, tick then the heater lights and I hear the burner . Recently I heard the DSI then nothing and the red reset light came on the panel. Next I heard a WOOSh..sounded like the propane had filled the area behind the access door then ignited. My neighbor says it has been happening a lot lately. Do I need to replace the igniter? Is there any adjustment or anything that needs adjusting/cleaning. Anyone had this problem?

I would start by getting a bottle brush and cleaning the burner flue. Make sure that there are no cobwebs or debris in the burner tube, around the igniter and on the jets for the burner. Use a brass brush (or very carefully use a steel brush) to clean the carbon buildup off the igniter. That should do it. If not, then it's either the timers on the control board (very unlikely) or the igniter.

I'd bet it's just dirty.
