We are planing a few trips to the beach this year and came across a good used duo therm 13.5k a/c unit for free from a friend. But it does need a new shroud as the one on it is missing. Does anyone have a idea of where to start looking for one at a decent price?

Search for "RV Salvage" on-line. You may find one used or overstocked. JM2¢, Hank ...... Asking Santa for one probably won't work. http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/picture.php?albumid=299&pictureid=1407

Camping World has new ones for a bit over $100 but We have found that (even if painted) these covers on our 14 yr old Motorhome only last a year or 2 in the SW before becoming brittle and breaking apart. Our latest experiment was to get 2 new ones and have both Line-X'ed to match the color of the coach. Not cheap since the Line-X application cost as much as the covers but if it extends the life 4 to 5 years, it will have paid for itself.

Good luck

finding a replacement cover may or may not be an easy task. When I needed to replace one on '84 Avion with original DuoTherm air (I forget the model #), I had to hunt high and low to find one that fit that particular model #. I finally found a place that referred me to another place that still had one in stock.

Best of luck in your hunt.

Edit to add - a quick google of old duotherm shroud revealed several that look like the right ones (with grey band around bottom and some from a place that sells replacements that don't have the grey band but do have the needed height)

Max-Aire manufactures replacement shrouds for Dometic, Accel-air and Duo-therm air conditioners. They are usually stocked at Camping World and can be ordered from almost any RV dealer. If you're looking for a new, "improved" (so they claim) shroud, Max-Aire would be your best bet. Otherwise, it's a hit and miss trying to find a salvage unit or an overstocked shroud that "probably will fit" your model. Take your model number and serial number to CW, they have or can get you the shroud.
