Is there a way to
reduce the weight of the garage door when lowering it for a frail old man. Any input appreciated. Thanks. klp

Our 322 came with a hydraulic device that raises and lowers it. Runs off of 12 volt.

It might be possible to add another spring to the door. The device that Ht refers to is an option that is no longer available. I wouldn't be surprised it Lippert provided that electric door opener, so maybe you can check with a knowledgeable dealer or even call Lippert and see if you can find one of those openers around to be installed. It was only offered for a couple years and then disappeared.

Lippert lists a power ramp door in their catalog. There is no price listed, so I'd make sure you are sitting down when you ask, "How much?" LOL

That lower mount on the door looks like it would be alot of stress on the lower part of the door ,Just saying:D
