Has anyone got any experience with installing a shorter height tire on their hauler mine has the 235/80/16E tires and I would like something 2 to 4" shorter and have thus far been unable to come up with anything.
I was a heavy trucker for 45 plus years and am aware of Lo pro tires used on Big Rigs they allow use of 24" wheels and tire height of 11/22.5
thanks for any help

the 16 inch rim is limited by load rating and selection. if you went 17 or 17.5 you might find a lo pro. I do know that if you go with lt tires for the higher speed rating a 245/75-16e has about the same ride height as the 235/80-16e. I chose the transforce ht firestones because I was sick of china bombs( 3 blowouts) and as a light truck tire they have a speed rating of 106 mph, all st tires are rated 65 mph max. heres a link to a guy that has a lot of info. http://fasteagletiretalk.blogspot.com/
