I am trying to install a Trimetric 2025-RV battery monitor.. first question is can the shunt be mounted outside under the front of the trailer on the frame near the batteries? Second question is what are the devices that the battery cables are tying into (see pictures). What are the + and - wires in this picture, I know the large red is + and the large black is the - that is bolted to the frame, but what are all the other wires?

Electrically, the shunt must be connected directly to the battery, and all loads connected "downstream" of the shunt. However, the shunt is generally not waterproof, so care should be taken to ensure that it is not literally downstream of road spray. Since the battery should be covered, locating the shunt there often kills two birds with one stone.

The devices behind the red rubber covers are thermal circuit breakers. The one on the right is likely the main "house" breaker. The one on the left probably protects just the front jack or slideout motor (follow the wires).

The camper does not have a slide or power jack. the batteries a mounted on the tongue in plastic battery boxes.

How would you wire the shunt looking at the two red circuit breakers?

The circuit breakers are on the positive line from the batteries. The shunt needs to go on the negative line.

so all the wires going in and out of the red circuit breakers are positive?

Yes. Don't be confused by the black wires at the circuit breakers. In the RV world, black is positive when black and white wires are used.

The shunt must be installed on the negative line, between the battery and the vehicle frame.

Got it installed .... plugged the camper in and it's charging and reading 13.6 volts.

It seems I cannot reset the Trimetric 2025-RV from the factory settings. The P1 setting is set for 28.6 volts and the P3 to 400amp-hrs. Is there a complete reset some where? I have 2-6 volt golf batteries Group GCS2 at 215 amp/hrs.

I have 2-6 volt GCS2 golf batteries @ 215 amps/hrs. What would the P1, P2, & P3 settings be for this set up? I have them now @ P1=14.4 volts, P2=off, P3= 200 amps, after being connected to shore power all night the readings are @ 13.6 volts, 00.4 amps, and 101% is this correct?

For programming changes to take effect you need to push Select to get out of Change mode.

If you have 215Ah batteries then P3 should be 215 and P2 should be 2% of that, or 4.

P1 depends on your charging source. The correct value is 98% of the max charging voltage. If it's a solar charge controller, 14.4V might be reasonable. But if it's just a typical RV converter/charger, 13.7V might be closer to reality.

Help... I have P1=13.7 volts, P2=4, & P3=200, it has been on shore power since our last discussions, it now shows 13.6 volts, 00.03, and 107% charged.
Is this normal?
