Just curious if anyone, in the cooler north, plan to go out for one more time before closing down for the winter? We have one more trip planned for the long weekend, Thanksgiving in Canada. We live in Kamloops BC, so will be staying close to home, within an hours drive. Looking forward to getting away one more time.

I'm not in the REAL cooler north but I'm heading over to the Oregon Coast to camp for the month of October (Tillamook Bay area). Then Thanksgiving at Beverly Beach (near Newport) and then Christmas/New Years at McKinley RV park (near Walport).

Then I need to decide what to do with Jan/Feb since it does get cold enough to freeze but I hate to winterize since we always do some camping during this time.
I guess I'll need to find a warm place to hook up and keep her toasty during that time too.

Happy Camping!

The annual Michigan Deer season is November 15-30. So, winterizing may come before that (depending on the weather forcast) but that "last camping trip" will include the trailer. We may be using bottled water and a "trench toilet" but we'll be camping LOL

Yes we are also heading out for Thanksgiving long weekend one last time. We also stay within an hour of town. That weekend makes for good ATVing :)

Southern Ontario here :) We are heading to Watkins Glen http://nysparks.com/parks/142/details.aspx NY for 5 days over the Canadian long weekend. We booked it 6 months ago and just last week realized we have a "RV site " but it has no electric. Hope the battery will run the furnace for that long.

Nova Scotia here and we have always camped through October. Thanks giving with a deep fried turkey was a tradition but this year it will not be taking place. First child is due mid to late October so the camper is home for the rest of this season.

Closing down?? I live in Central Texas. My camping season is just beginning now that scorching weather is leaving. We're going to Lake Catherine, AR the last week in October, probably to another Arkansas park for Thanksgiving, and we havn't decided about Christmas yet. Happy Camping.

We would love to be on the coast during November and December, but the idea of crossing the Blues once the snow starts will probably keep us home in Idaho after October. We are looking at the possibility of Halloween at Beverly Beach.

I didn't know about the RV park at Waldport, but the new trailer has sized us out of the sites we like at Beachside.

I am in New England and hope to get out 3 times in Oct., once to Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. The other weekend we plan a drive to Ohio to visit our daughter. At the end of the month we plan on winterizing until the spring. We have a long winter ahead for various reasons.

The good part of the year was we had only booked about 19 nights of camping with our camping friends but in the end, my wife and I should be 42 nights, not too bad for the new trailer...

We are in Kamloops too but we just got our Hideout last week. Winterized it over the weekend and it's parked until spring now :)

We are looking forward to September camping at LLJ, it gets nice and quiet up there once the summer ends.

That is where we are thinking of heading for the long weekend. If you are out and about come visit..:) Just curious did you get the dealer to do your winterizing or did you do it yourself?

We are heading out twice more. Camping in the Wisconsin Kettle Morraine Southern Unit on the weekend of the 11th and then one last Halloween Trip to the Bong Recreational area the weekend of the 25th. It as good time when you camp close to Halloween. Lot's of people with their sites decorated plus the occasional trick or treater. We always have a bowl of candy and freshly carved jack-o-lanterns.

We are just like the people from Texas, our camping season is just beginning. We went to Texas in June and that was about all for the summer. After we get this house and settle in, then we will camp.

Another Southern Ontarian here ... We are heading to Algonquin Park for the Thanksgiving weekend, then the following weekend I have a "guys" camping weekend to attend, Then the last weekend in October we will be doing a Halloween Camping weekend at a Provincial Park. After that we'll winterize, but we still have two possible camping trips left, one in November and another at New Years..

So envious that you guys have a larger camping window than we do. Have fun!!

Mabry Mill! Ah, buckwheat pancakes (stone ground at the mill), maple syrup, fresh eggs and VA cured ham. And absolutely gorgeous fall foliage as a backdrop. Ranks as one of my 10 best ever meals. And mills : )
Cholesterol be damned!
